First run

Your first Azeroth Survivors run

In Elwynn Forest, move to start the clock, pick one of three upgrade cards each time you level, and survive five bosses that arrive on a fixed schedule. The run ends when you die or defeat the zone's final boss.

Checked in game client v0.141.0 on 2026-11-05

The clock and the next boss

The top of the screen shows the run time and the next boss countdown. A new run starts at 00:00 with the first boss 03:00 away, and the HUD reads next boss in 03:00. The centre of the screen says Move to begin.; the timer starts when you move.

There is no single fixed run length. You win an ordinary run by defeating the zone's final boss, and you end it by dying. The final boss arrives at 16:00, so 16:00 is an arrival time, not a clear time.

Level-up cards

Combat pauses when you level up and three cards appear. Each card shows a skill and the numbers it changes. Click a card or press its number:

Your skills cast themselves. In the checked run the hero kept attacking and killing enemies while the player only moved and chose cards.

Elwynn Forest boss schedule

Five bosses arrive in this order. The names link to their boss pages.

BossArrives
Hogger03:00
Mother Fang06:00
Rhahk'Zor09:00
Mr. Smite12:00
Edwin VanCleef16:00

These are arrival times, not a promise that you will beat each boss on time. The checked run confirmed the 03:00 first boss; the later times come from the site's v0.140.0 zone data, not from a full clear in that test.

Death and the result screen

A death ends the run; you do not revive where you fell. The result screen says You have fallen and lists the run's survival time, level, kills, gold and caches opened. It offers Again and Return to character select.

In the checked run, the result was Survived 09:40, Level 8, 151 kills, 126 gold and 20 caches opened. That run ended well before the 16:00 final boss.

Talent experience between runs

Every run pays talent experience to the class you played: time survived, kills, bosses and a win all count, and harder zones pay more. Talents are spent in the Armory, on its Talents tab, between runs. Respecs are free.

Zone unlocks are separate from talents. Elwynn Forest is open from the start; beating Edwin VanCleef opens Duskwood, then each later zone opens after the previous zone's final boss.
