Azeroth Survivors save file: back up and move it

The browser version keeps progress in this site's local browser storage, not in a save file you can browse to. Export it from Options → Saves before you clear site data or change browser or computer.

Checked in game client v0.141.0 on 2026-11-05

Where the browser save lives

Progress belongs to the wow.aethus.pl site in your browser's local storage. It is separate for each browser and each computer. These keys were present on 2026-11-05:

KeyWhat it holds
rogue.charactersCurrent progress.
rogue.characters.backup-atBackup time.
rogue.characters.backup.1An automatic backup.
rogue.characters.backup.2Another automatic backup.

Clearing the site's data or all browsing data removes these keys, including the backups. A private session that discards site data when it closes loses the progress made in it. The checked page showed no visible cloud-sync entry, so keep your own exported file if the progress matters.

Back up with Export Save

  1. Open the game and go to Options → Saves.
  2. Choose Export Save.
  3. Keep the downloaded file somewhere you will still have it after clearing browser data or changing computers.

The file holds your heroes, the zones each class has opened, gear, talents and the codex. It is meant for a backup or for carrying progress to another computer or browser.

Restore an automatic backup

The game's own description is: Every hour you play, the game keeps a backup of your progress (the last 5). Import one to go back to it.

Open Options → Saves and look at Backups. Pick a dated backup and choose Restore. Restoring goes back to that point; it does not merge the backup with your current progress.

Move progress to another browser or computer

  1. On the old browser, open Options → Saves → Export Save and keep the file.
  2. If the target browser already has progress, export that too. Both sides get a copy before anything is replaced.
  3. Open the same official page, https://wow.aethus.pl/, in the new browser or on the new computer.
  4. Go to Options → Saves → Import Save and choose the exported file.
  5. Confirm the replacement when the game asks; import replaces all progress instead of merging it.
  6. Check the hero, gear, talents, open zones and codex on the new side before deleting the old copy.

What replaces or deletes progress

ActionResult
Import SaveImporting a save replaces all of your progress with the one in the file.
Clear site data or all browsing dataDeletes the current save and its automatic backups in that browser.
Open in a browser or on a computer that never had the saveStarts with fresh progress until you import the exported file.

Because import replaces rather than merges, export the target side first even when you intend to overwrite it. That gives you a way back if you pick the wrong file.

What this page does not cover

We did not download the Windows client, so its local save path is not verified here. This page only describes the browser save and the in-game export, import and backup controls that were checked.

An encrypted copy on this site

If you sign in on the account page, you can choose a save file, encrypt it locally with a recovery key and keep the ciphertext for 7, 30 or 90 days; the site cannot read the file or reset a lost key.
